Conflict on Mary's birth date she is listed in 1850 census for St. Mary's Township marriage possibly in Virginia her birth place possibly New Jersey
      birth date 1781, From Tombstone
      1850 census: May 16, 1773, Other records

Mary Brecount (1781, New Jersey - 1861) and her husband Asa Hinkle (1778-1831) moved to St.. Mary's, Auglaize County by 1824, and probably in 1820-1821. Auglaize county was just being formed (actually was part of Mercer and Allen Counties at this time. St.. Mary's had been a depot in the 1812 War. Asa was one of 29 taxed male citizens in 1824, and one of 80 taxed male citizens in 1830. Asa was commissioned, along with John Johnson, to locate the State road from Sidney to St.. Marys for $3.90. Asa Hinkle built the first county jail, sold in Dec. 1825. for which he received 5 lots (31,34,37,42 and 50) and $50.
The 1820-1 estimate for arrival in Auglaize County is based on Henry Smith's arrival in Auglaize from Hamilton County in 1820-1. Henry Smith married A Elizabeth Hinkle, and raised 8 children in St. Marys Twp. All but one was born in St.. Marys Twp. I'm guessing that Elizabeth Hinkle and Asa Hinkle are related.
Asa and Mary are buried in the Murray Graveyard in St.. Mary's Ohio, which is now located in the town's recreation area south west of the city.

Listed in Ohio's First Families Register #76

Other's buried in Murray Graveyard (Pictures: Murray Monument (front 200k) (Back w/ grave listings 250k), Asa Hinkle grave, Mary Hinkle grave, Elizabeth (dau. of Henry+Martha Hinkle) grave, Henry Hinkle Residence)

Sarah Brecount (1774? NJ - 1831) and her husband Joseph Catterlin also moved to Auglaize county. Joseph appears with his brother in-law, Asa Hinkle, on the 1824 and 1830 Auglaize Co tax rolls.

(John Catterlin is listed on the 1824 tax rolls. Henry Hinkle and David Catterlin are listed on the 1830 tax rolls. Henry Smith is listed on both tax rolls).

Sarah is buried in the Catterlin family cemetery on family farm. This farm is shown on the 1880 St. Marys Atlas, as being next to the branch of the St. Marys river, just south off of Koop Road, south of St.. Marys.
